[Courtroom Transcript Begins]
Judge: "The Court calls the case of The People vs. Aesthetic Performance Without Personal Presence. Counsel, do not waste my time. The Republic is watching."
Mr. Passion (Prosecutor) rises slowly: Smooth. Controlled. Wearing a suit that suggests: "I have never raised my voice, and yet I have ruined nations." Opening Statement "Your Honor, distinguished citizens, and those who arrived simply to gossip: We stand before the Court today not to determine whether beauty is important. The Republic has always advocated beauty. The Republic was born out of beauty.
No - today we ask a simpler, more humiliating question: Why does the face look like it was designed by someone who has never been touched before?
The Defendant, The Decorated Girl Era, presents itself as: Glowing, Soft, Innocent.
Yet the evidence reveals: a face constructed for public performance and not private experience.
This is not softness. This is hunger wearing lipgloss."
Prosecution Exbibits
Exhibit A: Blush positioned like a diplomatic negotiation - not where blood rises when someone whispers in your ear.
Exhibit B: Lips "overlined" to suggest fullness, yet the eyes remain vacant, as though the body has filed emotional bankruptcy.
Exhibit C: Statements recorded from the accused and her followers: "I look cute, but I don't feel anything."
"Your Honor, when a woman's face looks like advertising, and not memory, we classify that as Aesthetic Fraud."
Defense Counsel (turning pages frantically): "Your Honor, my client simply seeks beauty."
Mr. Passion: "Correction. Your client seeks approval. There is a difference. One is a pulse. The other is a performance."
Judge: "This Court wishes to confirm - is the Defendant prepared to argue that beauty without presence is still beauty?"
Defense Counsel looks at the Defendant. The Defendant avoids eye contact. Silence. Judge exhales slowly - the disappointment of a mother who expected better.
Judge: "Very well. The Court will hear witness testimony. Mr. Passion, call your first witness."
Mr. Passion: "The Prosecution calls 'The Woman Who Forgot She Was Allowed to Be Seen' to the stand."
She steps forward. No tremor, No apology. Her heels do not click - they whisper.
Judge: "State your name for the record."
Witness #1: "I will not. The Court may refer to me as The One Who Woke Up." A slight murmur passes through the room. Not scandal - recognition. "Once upon a time 0 if we must call it that - I believed that decoration was the same as desirability. I believed that if I shimmered, I would be held. If I softened my voice, I would be adored. If I made myself small enough, gentle enough, glazed-enough, someone would declare me "lovable". This was a mistake. A public one. I was performing softness like a product demonstration. But softness without depth is just... absence wearing perfume. I was not living. I was curated. Like a museum display arranged by someone who had never actually been warm."
Mr. Passion: "And when did you realize the performance had failed?"
Witness #1: "The day I saw myself reflected in a man's eyes and there was nothing there. Not beauty. Not intrigue. Not even desire. It was humiliating. But the kind of humiliation that saves you."
Judge: "Specify the transformation for the Court."
Witness #1: "Very well. I stopped applying blush to look alive and applied it where blood rises when I am. I stopped trying to look nice and became expansive. I stopped choosing aesthetics that made me liked, and chose the one that made me remembered. I left the Coquette Girl Era the way one leaves a restaurant that oversalts the food: Quietly. With my dignity in my coat pocket."
Mr. Passion: "And your verdict on the Decorated Girl?"
Witness #1: "She is not dangerous. She is simply... unfinished. She thinks she is soft because she has not yet met her own fire. Let her learn. Let her embarrass herself in peace. Some women must first be harmless before they become real."
Judge: "The Court accepts the testimony."
Conclusion
The Witness steps back. No tears. No dramatics. Just a woman who has already won.
Court is adjourned.
The gavel does not slam. Judge simply raises her hand. Silence is louder.
