Opening Statement

Beauty has eras. And eras have villains.

Some of them are well-meaning. Most of them are sponsored.

Today, we track down the downfall of melting blush through the decades.

Because the face did not lose its warmth on accident. It was influenced.

2016: The Highlight Blizzard:

Remember when everyone looked like they were made of chrome?

Forehead: glazed. Cheekbone: reflective enough to call for maritime safety regulations. Nose: a lighthouse guiding ships at sea.

Everyone was shiny, but no one was warm.

Face: Decorated. Emotion: Pending.

This is when blush stopped melting and started sitting.

2019: The "Full Face But No Personality" Era:

Makeup was perfect. Faces were identical. Voices were monotone. Everybody had one personality trait: Sephora VIB Rouge.

Warmth? Gone. Nobody felt beautiful they just checked the tutorial boxes.

Beauty became something you achieve, not something you embody.

2021: The Soft Girl Deception:

Marketing said "soft". Execution said powdery ghost.

Everyone wanted to look gentle, but:

The blush sat on the face, not in it.
The lip looked blurred, but emotionally? Crisp avoidance
The aesthetic was soft, but the insecurity was loud.

It was never softness. It was fear disguised as pastel.

2023: The Glazed Donut Epidemic:

Skin: wet. Cheeks: wet. Forehead: wet. Under-eye: wet. Identity: moisturized to the point of existential confusion.

Everyone looked like a pastry.

No story. Just glaze.

Flushed warmth was considered "messy". Skin texture was illegal. People were scared of looking like they actually live in their body.

Present Day: The Decorated Girl:

She has access to tutorials. She has access to products. She has access to techniques.

But she has no access to herself.

She does everything beauty told her to do - except feel beautiful while doing it.

Time shaped her into someone who wears emotion, not someone who has emotion.

Mr. Tempo: "For the record, this conversation is being transcribed under Republic Archive Protocol 3.17. We are now at the time investigation regarding Bill 001 - The Kissed Girl aesthetic. Is it considered timeles? Mr. Dual, Mr. Passion and Duque L. are at the station to provide their statements. Duque L.: "I'll take it from here. What the MERELY competent detective is insinuating is that not only Kissed Girl is timeless because of the technique which embraces softness. It is also timeless because according to Baciando the Hourglass Decree, it allows us to not rush the process, take our time and enjoying the becoming. I could spend time doing what I love instead of negotiating with blush like it has free will."
